Timing is everything, and even more so when you’re trying to get pregnant. Ovulation induction can help women with irregular cycles or those who don’t ovulate regularly, helping them be more in control of their fertility journey.
What is Ovulation Induction?
Ovulation induction increases the chance of conception by using ovulation drugs to gently stimulate the ovaries to produce between one and three mature follicles.
The development of your follicles are then closely monitored by your consultant conducting ultrasound scans.
And once we have determined the exact day of ovulation, we will guide the timing of sexual intercourse to maximise the chances of conception.
What to expect
Your ovulation induction treatment journey
Ovulation induction is a fertility treatment that uses hormone medication to stimulate your ovaries into producing more eggs. A cycle can usually take around two to three weeks to complete.
The goal of ovulation induction is to increase your chances of conception, either through sexual intercourse or by using intrauterine insemination (IUI).
Once we have established if ovulation induction is the easiest, least invasive and quickest way to achieve a pregnancy, we design an individualised plan to deliver the best possible results for you.
Working to your cycle
Working to your cycle
Ovulation induction is a good fertility solution for women who have irregular or absent ovulation.
The process of using medication to stimulate ovulation, means that we do everything we can to work around your life and your cycle.
Only when you’re ready, your treatment will start.
Once you start your hormone medication to gently stimulate your ovaries, your consultant will carefully monitor you for the development of mature follicles.
Using urine-based ovulation tests, we’ll monitor you for signs of spontaneous ovulation.
You’ll then be advised to have intercourse on the day of, and on the day after a positive ovulation test.
In order to maximise your chance of a successful pregnancy, we provide you with progesterone the day after ovulation, which helps provide a supportive and healthy environment for the development of a fertilised egg.
How much is Ovulation Induction likely to cost?
We know that fertility treatments are not only an emotional commitment but also a financial one too, and with the ultimate goal of finding the quickest, easiest, and least invasive way to get you pregnant, we’ve made sure our prices are competitive.
We always recommend to patients that when comparing prices between clinics they ensure that they have prices for all the elements that a clinic expects a patient to pay for.
